1. Our Editorial Mission
CHIVAM BLOGS exists to provide accurate, practical, and actionable information across a wide range of topics — including personal finance, investing, technology, business, career, health, and lifestyle. Our goal is to help real people make better-informed decisions.
Our editorial decisions are made independently of our commercial interests. Advertisers and affiliate partners do not control what we write, how we rate products, or which opinions we publish.
2. Content Standards
2.1 Accuracy
- All factual claims must be verifiable from credible sources.
- Statistics, data, and research citations must reference the original source (published study, government dataset, industry report, or recognised expert).
- We do not publish claims we cannot verify.
- We cross-reference financial data (rates, fees, product terms) against official or primary sources before publication.
2.2 Objectivity and Independence
- Editorial content is created independently of advertising and affiliate relationships.
- Our writers and editors are not permitted to accept gifts, payments, or benefits from companies covered in our content, beyond what is disclosed.
- Sponsored content is strictly separated from editorial content and always labelled.
- If a writer has a personal financial interest in a topic they are covering, they must disclose it.
2.3 Fairness
- We represent multiple perspectives where a topic is genuinely contested.
- We do not publish content designed primarily to mislead readers.
- Comparative articles (e.g., “Best X for Y”) are based on defined, published criteria — not on who pays the highest commission.
- We do not defame individuals or organisations.
2.4 Clarity
- We write for general audiences, not specialists. Jargon is explained when unavoidable.
- Recommendations are concrete and actionable, not vague.
- Articles have a clear purpose — educational, analytical, or practical guidance.
3. Source Standards
We cite credible, authoritative sources. In order of preference:
- Primary sources: Government agencies (IRS, SEC, FDA, BLS, Federal Reserve, SEBI, RBI), official regulatory bodies, peer-reviewed academic research.
- Industry data: Recognised industry associations, established research firms (Statista, McKinsey, Gartner, PwC).
- Reputable media: Established financial publications (Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Reuters, Bloomberg, CNBC).
- Expert commentary: Licensed professionals (CFAs, CPAs, attorneys, medical professionals) quoted directly.
- Company statements: Official press releases or investor relations materials — identified as such.
We do not cite: anonymous or unverifiable sources for factual claims; personal blogs or social media posts as primary sources of fact; content farms or SEO- driven sites with no editorial standards.
4. Finance and Sensitive Topic Standards
Content covering personal finance, investing, taxation, insurance, credit, debt, health, or legal topics is subject to additional review standards:
- No investment recommendations. We do not tell readers to buy, sell, or hold specific securities.
- Disclaimer required. All finance-related content includes a disclaimer that the content is informational only and not professional financial advice.
- Rate and data freshness. Financial product information (interest rates, fees, terms) is reviewed for accuracy and dated. Stale data is updated or removed.
- Expert review. High-stakes finance content (e.g., retirement planning, tax strategy, mortgage guidance) is reviewed by, or sourced from, qualified professionals where possible.
- Health content. Medical and health information is framed as general education only. We recommend professional consultation prominently.
5. Corrections Policy
We take accuracy seriously and correct our mistakes promptly.
- Minor errors (typos, formatting issues, broken links): corrected immediately with no notation.
- Factual errors (incorrect statistics, wrong dates, misattributed quotes): corrected with a visible correction notice at the bottom of the article noting what was changed and when.
- Significant errors (errors that materially affect the advice or conclusions in an article): corrected with a prominent notice explaining the nature of the error and the correction made.
- We do not silently delete or retroactively alter content to hide errors. Material changes are always noted.
To report an error, contact us at legal@chivamservices.com with the subject line “Editorial Correction.”
6. Sponsored and Branded Content
When we publish content in partnership with a brand:
- It is clearly labelled “Sponsored,” “Paid Partnership,” or “Advertiser Content” — prominently, at the top of the page.
- We apply the same factual accuracy standards to sponsored content as to editorial content.
- We will not publish sponsored content that is misleading, deceptive, or that we believe will harm readers.
- The sponsoring brand does not have editorial control over non-sponsored editorial content.
7. Artificial Intelligence Policy
CHIVAM BLOGS uses AI tools (including large language models) to assist with certain aspects of the content creation process. Our AI policy:
- AI assists, humans decide. AI may be used for research assistance, first-draft generation, content outlines, and SEO optimisation. All content is reviewed, edited, fact-checked, and approved by a human editor before publication.
- AI does not replace expert judgment. For sensitive topics (finance, health, legal), human editorial review is mandatory regardless of how the content was drafted.
- We do not pass AI output off as human-written expert opinion without disclosure.
- AI-assisted content is subject to the same accuracy and editorial standards as human-written content.
For full details, see our AI Disclosure.
8. Reader Feedback
