1. What This Disclosure Covers
CHIVAM BLOGS (the “Site”), operated by CHIVAM SERVICES, participates in affiliate marketing programmes. This means some links on this Site are affiliate links — if you click one and make a qualifying purchase or action, we may earn a commission. This page explains what that means, how it works, and our commitments to you.
2. What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a specially tracked URL that tells a third-party company that a visitor came from our site. When you use that link to complete a purchase, subscription, or other qualifying action, the company pays us a referral commission.
The price you pay is not affected. Affiliate commissions are paid by the company, not added to your bill.
3. Programmes We Participate In
We currently participate in, or may participate in, the following affiliate programmes:
- Financial services comparison platforms — including credit card issuers, loan providers, insurance marketplaces, and investment platforms.
- Software and SaaS tools — productivity tools, business software, and marketing platforms.
- Online education platforms — course marketplaces and professional certification providers.
- Web hosting and tech services — hosting providers, domain registrars, VPN and security tools.
- Business services — accounting software, legal services, and HR tools.
This list is not exhaustive. We will update it as our partnerships evolve.
4. Our Editorial Standards
Our recommendations are based on genuine research, editorial judgement, and reader value — not on commission rates. Specifically:
- We do not rank, rate, or recommend products based on how much commission they pay.
- We will not recommend a product we would not be comfortable recommending to a friend.
- A higher commission does not improve a product's position in our comparisons or reviews.
- We reserve the right to reject affiliate partnerships with companies we do not believe serve our readers well.
- Affiliate income supports this Site and allows us to produce free content for our readers — but it does not purchase editorial influence.
5. How We Label Affiliate Content
When an article contains affiliate links, it will include one of the following disclosures near the top of the page:
- “This article contains affiliate links. If you click and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.”
- “Disclosure: Some links in this post are affiliate links. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.”
6. Sponsored vs. Affiliate Content
These are different things:
| Type | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Affiliate link | We earn a commission if you buy through our link. We were not paid to write the article. |
| Sponsored article | A company has paid us to publish content about their product or service. Always labelled “Sponsored.” |
| Organic recommendation | No compensation received. We recommend the product because we genuinely think it is good. |
7. FTC Compliance
This disclosure complies with the Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255, updated 2023). The FTC requires that the relationship between an endorser and a product marketer be “clearly and conspicuously” disclosed when that relationship is material to a reader's evaluation of the endorsement.
We take this requirement seriously and extend it beyond the legal minimum — we disclose even where the FTC might not strictly require it, because we believe our readers deserve full transparency.
8. Your Trust Matters More Than Commission
Our long-term success as a publication depends entirely on our readers trusting us. We will never compromise that trust for a commission. If you ever notice a recommendation that seems inconsistent with this policy, please let us know at legal@chivamservices.com.
